1756, James Harrill of Prince William County, VA
JAMES HARRILL of Prince William County, Va. Wife (unnamed in will) was Executrix. Sons; JOHN, DANIEL, MOSES, WILLIAM, GILBERT, and SAMUEL. Daughters; ELIZABETH, MARY, SUSANA, ROASAN. Signed JAMES HARRILL (by marke). Wit; JOHN HARRILL (by mark), and DANIEL HARRILL (does not say by mark).
Daniel’s signature appears to be in the same handwriting as the rest of the text. The Will is probably in his handwriting. Another original document accompanied the Will. This is a note from Mary Harrill to the Court of Fauquier dated 23 June 1763. Mary asks the Court to name either Capt. Houson (Housen) Kenner or her son Daniel Harrill to be the Administrator of the Estate of her husband, James Harrill. She said she is…”old and crazy and not able to go through the trouble of it.”
